Alex Edwards
Senior Speech Pathologist

Alex is a dedicated and caring Senior Speech Pathologist who is passionate about providing client-centred, strength-focussed services to support children and adolescents with their communication goals and eating & drinking skills. She recognizes that each client has their own unique skillset and learning style and enjoys tailoring activities to each child’s interests to make each session a fun and engaging learning experience. She values building strong connections with families and capacity building as an integral part of a client’s speech pathology journey. Alex prioritizes creating an environment that is inclusive and allows all clients to feel connected and confident.

Alex provides services in the following areas:

  • Assessment and treatment of Speech Sound Disorders
  • Language assessment and therapy
  • Social skill development, including Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Literacy skills
  • Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)
  • Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) assessment and management

Alex has worked with clients aged 0-18 years in early intervention, education and disability across school, kindergarten, home, and clinic settings. Alex has a particular passion for working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has gained experience working in both metropolitan Adelaide and regional locations; including Yorke Peninsula, Port Pirie and Port Augusta.

Alex has completed a Master of Speech Pathology and a Bachelor of Behavioural Sciences at Flinders University.
